Writing life isn’t always a straight line, and lately, I’ve felt it more keenly than usual. My recent novella didn’t quite find the audience I’d hoped for, and the manuscript I submitted to MX Publishing is still pending a reminder that in publishing, nothing is guaranteed.
But the work continues. I’ve just completed a revised manuscript, which I plan to submit soon to Trojan or Titan. It’s been a process of refinement and patience, of learning what works and what doesn’t, and trying again.
At the same time, I’m almost finished with a Sherlock Holmes anthology, which has been a joy to write. Even amid the slow periods, projects like this remind me why I write: because the stories themselves are worth telling.
I know many writers — and readers — experience these ebbs and flows. Progress isn’t always flashy; sometimes it’s measured in pages revised, submissions sent, or ideas nurtured for the future.
As always, I’ll continue sharing updates here on the blog and more behind-the-scenes thoughts in my Substack newsletter, where I reflect on writing, publishing, and the craft of storytelling.
Thank you for being part of the journey — the highs, the lows, and everything in between.
