I am working on a series of books I have entitled Echoes from 221b. I came up with the name because there are areas of the Holmes canon where Sherlock is simply ‘missing’ and its always been a surprise to me Conan Doyle either did this, or never bothered to fill in those gaps.
My first Novella, Footsteps on the Moor:Being the Dartmoor Journal of Sherlock Holmes is my reimagining of Sherlock keeping a journal while he was apart from Dr. Watson during the Hound of The Baskervilles. I was always fascinated by the fact that Sherlock was a virtual ghost throughout much of the novel and we are left to guess exactly why he chose to go to Dartmoor alone and what he did there. He does mention to Dr. Watson he was involved in investigations in London. So I’ve incorporated both elements within my pastiche.
