Well yesterday I had my first ever live radio interview about a piece of work I have produced. It was with a friend of mine Stray Cat who is a DJ on Kickin FM Tunes 96.9 which is part of ALLFM community radio station in Manchester, UK. They’ve won a Gold Award for community broadcasting and they provide a diverse range of content for the population of Manchester using volunteer talent.
We spoke for about 40 minutes about my new book Footsteps on the Moor, why I chose it and what sparked me to write it in the first place. We covered a wide range of Sherlock related topics, including who is my favourite Sherlock actor, why Sherlock endures, etc. I was also asked about my writing process and whether I found it difficult to write and if so why? I also picked two of my favourite tunes which were played. You can find a replay of the interview here. Thanks once again to Kicking FM Tunes for inviting me to chat. I would encourage any authors to take the opportunity to engage with readers via community radio as it was a fun experience and many of these stations are looking for interesting content for their programs.
Andrew Peel is the author of Footsteps on the Moor a thoughtful reimagining of Sherlock Holmes time on Dartmoor via a private journal discovered by his brother Mycroft.
