On My Desk At The Moment

Posted on 22.09.2025 by admin

I thought I’d share a little about the project currently on my desk.

Some of you know this one started life as a Great Hiatus story with Fenians as the villains — until I realised the timeline just didn’t quite fit. So I’ve gone back to the drawing board.

The new version is something of a love letter to the Basil Rathbone/Nigel Bruce films I grew up with — black-and-white adventures, late 1930s atmosphere, a touch of espionage, and Holmes matching wits with shadowy figures in wartime shadows.

This time, the threat comes from Black Shirt sympathisers plotting to bring explosives into Britain. It’s Holmes as an almost-spy, standing at the edge of history as the world tilts toward conflict.
